Our pupils are given a number of opportunities to use and develop their leadership skills.
Class Ambassadors
Each class teacher chooses three Class Ambassadors each half term. These children are chosen as role models for the class and are asked to support their peers by helping around the classroom giving out resources. They also lead and end the line when the class moves around school, being on-hand to open doors around school. Children have a green ambassador badge to wear as part of their school uniform.
Reading Champions
Reading Champions are also chosen half-termly; with the class teacher picking two children who show a passion for reading. These champions help out by promoting book talk in the classroom and by keeping the class reading corner organised. They also use Libresoft to sign books in and out for their peers.
Eco-Representatives
Each class has one Eco-Representative per half-term to encourage and support their class with being 'green'. Examples include encouraging recycling in the classroom and making sure lights are switched off when they are not needed.
School Council
Our Year 6 children are invited to apply for this role when they start in Year 6. These applications are shortlisted and then children present to their year group why they would like to be part of the school council after which a vote takes place. The role of the School Council is to lead on whole school initiatives.
Sports Leaders
Our Sports Leaders are chosen through their desire to support and lead on Sports activities across the school. They lead playground games at break and lunch-times and organise sporting events for their peers to participate in.
