At Westwood, we believe that the ability to communicate effectively is vital in everyday life. As language is so crucial, we want to foster an interest and a lifelong enjoyment in learning other languages.

We aim to develop an understanding and appreciation for different language and stimulate children’s curiosity about language as well as developing children’s awareness of cultural differences.

We strive to embed the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing to enable children to use the language effectively. We aim to make learning a new language fun and engaging to all pupils and that it is accessible to all.
